Busy Week

Last week was a busy one for us, and we could not do this without all of you, so a big heartfelt “Thank You” to all of you.

Last Wednesday we attended a Community Collaborative meeting at Ortega High School.  We were able to connect with several organizations and agencies that provide resources to our community.  We look forward to partnering with these folks and having a very successful Operation Prom Girl.

We are working on obtaining the names of the girls that will participate in our March 28th event.  The emails are coming in and the girls are being enrolled into OPG 2015.  We are working to expand our reach to Menifee and Hemet,  We will keep you posted!

Dresses and shoes are coming in and we are so excited. We recently received a box of dresses from Northern California! Wow or wow our reach is going further and further!  Thank you all so much for the dresses and shoes!

Local businesses are coming forward in support of OPG.  Wonder Nails in Wildomar, has allowed us to put a donation box and flyer at the salon and will also give us a gift certificate for the event.  If you need your nails done pay them a visit and give a shout out to OPG!

We continue to hear a soft voice telling us “ask and you shall receive” last week we put a post out there for hangers and we received several hangers that same day.  To some that may be a small thing, to us it was HUGE!  With all the dresses coming in we ran out of hangers AND places to put the dresses.

Our immediate needs are:  gift cards from Costco to purchase sandwiches, gift cards from Walmart/Hobby Lobby to purchase decorations to transform the room, gift cards from dollar tree or 99 cent stores to purchase items for the goodie bags, homemade desserts for the March 28th event, clothes racks to hang the dresses.

You will never stop hearing “thank you” from us as we are so very thankful for all your doing  Please continue to follow us on facebook, Like our page, share our post, and share our event with all of your friends.

With Love,

Dawn and Linda

The Dresses and Dreams Project is 501 (c)3 non-profit organization to inspire vulnerable teen girls and women to love and value themselves. We provide resources, referrals and empowerment through workshops, classes, mentoring and community collaboration to girls and women year- round at a mind, body, and spirit level, with a special emphasis on self-love, healthy relationships, and integrity. We hold an annual event called Operation Prom Girl where we have provided over 1200 prom dresses to high school girls and assisted with military balls and events for special learners. We also donate dresses to all women who have a need. Our mission is to empower women through the magic of a beautiful dress, and inspire them to live to their full potential and purpose.
